Therapeutic approach

My main modality of working is Psychosynthesis, which incorporates the following -

Both eastern meditative traditions and western depth psychology body, feelings, mind and spirit in its framework.
Is respectful, non-pathologising and inclusive.
The ability to address deep psychological wounding, every day concerns, and what is seeking to emerge.
A wide range of techniques Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and trauma therapy are also used when required.

My aim as a psychotherapist

Establish a safe, therapeutic relationship as a means of bringing about the desired change and deep healing.
Assist you in identifying the unhelpful patterns that you wish to change.
Help you bring the desired change into your life.Help you work through any blocks.
Assist you in bringing more depth and meaning into your life.
Help you work through any blocks.

Eating difficulties.
Sexual abuse (trauma recovery).
Low self esteem and confidence.

Life crises.
Lack of purpose and meaning.

Nineteen years experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist.
Facilitator of groups focusing on self esteem, food and body image issues.
Trainer of Youthline phone counsellors.

Qualifications

Diploma in Psychotherapy (Psychosynthesis)
Diploma in Counselling (Psychosynthesis)
Certificate in Trauma Counselling
ACC Regd for sexual abuse counselling
Bachelor of Arts (psychology major)
Registered Psychotherapist - PBANZ
